~ Basic Philosophy ~

With every choice you make you are heading toward balance or away from it. With this in mind taking good care of yourself is not a luxury. It is a gift that you give first to yourself and from there it can't help but radiate from you and elevate the world around you. It is an essential part of being able to embody your most noble potentials as only you can. When you have taken care of yourself physically, mentally, and emotionally you are able to hear your intuition, your inherent creativity emerges and you are able to see things as they are. Since one can only give to the world that which they themselves posses, being courageous enough to make wholesome and sane choices that come from compassion for yourself is a fundamental step in offering your best to your loved ones, your work, and from there naturally spilling out to the world. Massage and Yoga are both wonderful tools for caring for yourself and embodying your well being.

~ Massage ~

I offer deep tissue, therapeutic massage that is catered to your needs on the particular day that you come to see me. Being in this world we are constantly changing and in flux, depending on your mood, the season, the time of day, and all other life potentials. During the check in time together we find out where you are and what you need most at that moment. The massage style I offer is guided by intuition and grounded in anatomy. Many different elements inform my practice including deep tissue, myofascial release, Thai massage, and energy work. It can be focused for injury maintenance and chronic pain or geared more towards unwinding from tension and dropping in to your inner world of relaxation.

~ Yoga ~

Since 2000 when I began teaching yoga I have studied Kripalu, Bliss, Vinyasa, and Yin yoga as well as Vipassana Meditation. All of these along with intensive anatomy from massage training and inner guidance affect my yoga teaching style which is always evolving. I like to blend playful use of the warm-ups, postures, and breath to help balance the mind and body. We can gear a session towards rehabilitation and healing or towards overall health, flexibility, strength and equanimity. I offer private yoga classes in my space or in yours. I am also available for people who would like to experience the benefits of yoga during their work day.
